01/24/06 Yeah we know it’s late but HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!!!!! As usual we are lagging again on the news. The writing for the new album is about half done. We have five solid killer tracks done and all the material for the rest. The art work is being completed as we speak also. Rainer, who did the L.I.B. cover, is also doing the new one. Needless to say it is going to look killer and will incorporate some of the same artistic cues. We have a goal of getting into the studio in April/March and hopefully have it released by Lion Music sometime early summer. We will be hosting a huge release party in Resistance fashion and then hitting the road and clubs hard. We played a few of the new songs at our last few shows and got a great response from you guys. Speaking of shows, they have all been great! The Dokken show at the HOB in Anaheim was sold out and packed to the gills. Probably the biggest show we have done. The HOB seems to be one of the best venues for us, as everyone comes out to that place. We also did a few shows out east in Rancho Cucamonga at Goodfellas and Riverside at the Vibe. The fucking I.E. metal heads are something else and really got in to the Resistance brand of METAL!!! Our next show is April 16th opening for the mighty EXODUS. This will be our second time around with Exodus and we can’t wait. We have discount tix for the show at $10.00 so hit the merch page and order now… New forum!!! If you don’t know already we have a new forum host at www.ultimatemetal.com go there, check it out and start posting!!! We have also just inked an exclusive deal with Blue Steel agency in Europe. Blue Steel will be booking and promoting us in Europe. We have already sparked the interest of several festival promoters and we will book a tour around any dates inked. 11/04/05 Hails! We are still feverishly working on new material and have three new songs completed with lyrical ideas for four more on the table. We are also working on the cover art work design and concept. We think you guys will really be into what we have in store. We can’t wait to have you guys hear the new stuff and we will be previewing a few of the tunes for you at the upcoming shows. Yes, Shows!!! We are going to take little break from writing and play a couple of shows offers which we could not pass up. We have been graciously invited to be direct support for Dokken at their House of Blues performance in Anaheim on Dec. 1st. We will also be bringing the Metal Machine back to the Inland Empire for K-Cal’s Hardcore Thursdays at Good Fellas in Rancho Cucamonga on Dec. 29th. 08/03/05 We know it’s been awhile since our last post of news here and we apologize. The Resistance camp has been buzzing. Lies in Black just saw its official release on Lion Music July 22nd and the reviews from all over have been pouring in. We are also getting great airplay all over the world. We have been quite happy at the positive reaction the album has been getting! Gigs Gigs Gigs!! Lots of shows in the works. We will be down in San Marcos at the Jumping Turtle on Sat. Aug. 6th for a Powerslave.com show and then we have our first big headlining show at the world famous Troubadour on Wed Aug 17th. We are also lining up some more show down in San Diego next month with some awesome headliners. We are also trying to bring this package up to L.A. for a show. After all that I think we will settle down for the fall and start writing the new album. As you know we have one song finished, which we have been playing live and another is completed and just needs a little tweaking. About three others are in the beginning stage and just need lyrics. A video for War Paint is also in the works (thanks Fred). As you can see we have a lot of irons in the fire. We thank all of you guys for the continued support and for coming out to the shows. Although the site has been a little quiet we have been quite busy in the Resistance camp lately. Everything for Lies in Black has been sent off to our new record label “Lion Music” and we have been coming up with some really kicks ass new tunes for the new CD. Everything is coming together and I think you guys will be extremely pleased with the approach the band is taking with this next endeavor. The overall concept for the music and art work is already in place and the ideas are flowing. Thanks to everyone that came out to the two Amorphis/Into Eternity shows. We had a fucking great time and picked up a lot of new fans. We have recently opened up a spot on Myspace.com and we got a lot of adds’ from both show. Thanks guys!!! Robbie 2/23/05 Los Angeles power/thrash metallers RESISTANCE have inked an exclusive deal with Finland's Lion Music (SUN CAGED, CHRIS POLAND, TONY MACALPINE). RESISTANCE, whose sound is being described as "early Bay Area thrash mixed with a Euro power metal vibe," have independently released their first album, "Lies In Black", which will be re-issued worldwide through Lion Music. A summer release is expected. RESISTANCE will be joining the AMORPHIS, INTO ETERNITY, BEYOND THE EMBRACE, and SINGLE BULLET THEORY tour for two L.A. shows (Thursday, March 3 at The Key Club in Hollywood, California and Friday, March 4 at The Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana, California). 1/4/05 Hails! Another year down and gone already and what a great one! We want to thank all of you for the best year ever. We picked up a lot of new fans this year, played a ton of great shows and finally released our debut CD. We are very thankful to everyone that has shared in our vision and allowed us to keep doing what we love. As I and the rest of the band reflect on last years achievements we are reminded of just how lucky we are. Lies in Black continues to receive outstanding reviews and continuous play on several internet and college stations. Our biggest supporters being Alliance Radio (Thanks Cru!) and Head Case Radio! We have been and continue to be invited to play some outstanding shows. We are being looked at by some really great and supportive labels (News of which will be released soon) and you (the fans) have been very responsive to our contributions to the metal underground. We are also thankful for our continued friendship which keeps the Metal Machine rolling! We are now setting our goals for the New Year and we have set the bar high: 1) We will be seeking a manager as the workload is now getting to be more then we are able to handle on our own.(Any interested parties please feel free to drop us a line) 2) We will be looking to sign a recording deal with a company that is supportive of our music and vision. 3) We have dedicated ourselves to writing our best material to date for a new album. 4) We are looking for ways to bring you the best live show possible. 5) We are putting together some really cool new merchandise. 6) We also want to add a fan page to the site with pictures of you crazy fuckers on it from all the shows and events. 7) We will be looking to broaden our fan base with shows out of the area and out of the state. 8) We want to do more festival appearances here and abroad and the list goes on. As you can see we have our work cut out for us this year! RESISTANCE wins Best Metal Band award 2004 at the 10th annual Rock City News Music Awards. Paul was also nominated as best bassist and Robbie as best vocalist. 11/23/04 Hails Resistanites! Wow the news is flowing around here, lots going on lately. First off we want to give another big huge thank you to Web Mistress Mel for the outstanding job of keeping the site updated. She has been working overtime as you can see. As you may or may not already know we have been tapped as direct support on the L.A. dates of the Amorphis/Into Eternity tour. What an honor indeed to share the stage with these two great bands. We have all been huge Into Eternity fans since first hearing them a few years ago. I can guarantee these shows are going to be a big party. You are not going to want to miss the shows as we have some cool shit planned. As always we have discounted tix for you guys to save a few bucks. Tix are just $10.00 from us or $15.00 the night of the show. “Lies In Black” seems to be faring pretty fucking well out there in the metal world. We are getting some killer reviews and we keep getting solicited for copies to review and promote from all over the world. We have also been offered a few recording deals already from some very supportive labels. We also have some other labels showing interest. The response is quite surprising to say the least. We are also getting lots of air play on Alliance Radio and Head Case Radio. Matt just recently did an on air interview with Head Case, which you can listen to on the MP3 page. Thanks to these two great stations for their continued support. You can also request any song off of LIB to be played on Head Case Radio, so start requesting! “The Darkness Inside Me” is already in the top 10 requests as #3! Song writing for the next CD is moving quickly with almost three new songs in the can. As usual the songs run the gambit of our influences. The site is for custom drum builders and has some awesome kits posted and links for custom drums, parts, shells and just about everything. Log into the forum for some cool drum chat and information. They are also doing some heavy giveaways. We are currently looking to get some new merchandise too. New shirts, stickers etc. Please drop us a line and let us know what type of Resistance swag you would like to have. It helps us to decide what the more popular items are.
